Nature itself is the best physician – Hippocrates
Ithink we all can agree mothers hold many professions in a household and being the family’s doctors is one of them. With the upcoming mother’s day celebration, I would like to use this opportunity to thank my mother for being there during my sick days and when no medicine could calm my anguish, her warmth would give me the strength to endure. I would also like to thank her for introducing “cinnamon tea” into my regimen, a tea I like to refer as a miracle drink.
I used to get constant stomach pains caused by hyperacidity (excessive level of acid in the stomach) and because the very thought of taking pills makes me quiver in disgust, I wanted to find natural remedies to treat this condition. So I was thrilled to know by enjoying a cup of tea made of cinnamon spice, the condition could be regulated and the discomfort would stop.
I started drinking one cup of cinnamon tea a day with the sole purpose of regulating the flow of acid in my stomach, but I was amazed at how I experienced many other health benefits that I will share with you today.
1. Treats menstrual cramps:
Bye bye painkillers and hello tea!. I can not tell you how happy I was when I discovered during my menstrual cycle (that time of the month!), I did not experience pain of any kind and it was all thanks to drinking cinnamon tea. At first I thought to myself, “ok! Pam, you are quite lucky this time around”, but when I did not feel any body aches on the following month, I just knew it was not luck. I researched on what I was doing differently that had caused me to have so much relief, and discovered it was the cinnamon tea that I was taking.
2. Treats headaches:
I do not get frequent headaches, but when I do I rarely take any meds for it, I usually sleep it off and wake up feeling refreshed. However, there are those days when the head is pounding like a drummer decided to make a concert in the head, that is when I used to look for a strong painkiller to relieve the pain. Nowadays, I just take my cup of cinnamon tea and in a short while the pain subsides. How great is that!
3. Clearer skin:
I can not claim to have skin problems such as acne or any other skin irritations. Nonetheless, from time to time my skin would react to dry weather and I would get a small black patch right under my lower lip. That would bother me so much and no matter how hard I scrub that spot, it just wouldn’t come off. When I started drinking cinnamon tea it does not matter the weather condition; the black patch does not appear anymore, my skin tone is more even and as a bonus I do not get menstrual pimples.
