Beach Workout : Part 1

hen I heard this quote today, it solidified my belief of consistently exercising my body towards the goal of making fitness my lifestyle (I also believe this is applicable to every facet of our lives).

My plan for the next couple of days whilst in Diani is to do just that – Exercise Exercise Exercise!.

I arrived yesterday afternoon, staying at Swahili Beach Hotel. Soon after checking out the property, I quickly changed my alarm to 6:00 am for the following days, so I can be ready for my run at 6:30 am.

Today I used the Running App for my morning run. Some of you might know it or you are even using it, but for those who have never heard of the app, it is definitely worth downloading.

The app gives you different running plans based on the target you want to reach. It has been a while since I trained for a long distance run and given the Dasani Marathon is upon us come June 24th, I decided to put a 10km mark as the target.

 

 

Essentially, the app provides a High Intensity Interval (HIIT) training style, whereby it combines brisk walking, running and full speed sprinting in intervals during one training session. Consequently, your body burns alot of calories in a short amount of time as well as fat burning to name a few.

 

 

Today my HIIT record is 4.62 km in 38:15 mins at a pace of 8:15 km/hr. Not my best performance but I am on a journey to improvement, so I will not be hard on my self 😄.

    I’m using the Nike App I haven’t ran in a while But I’ve been gyming 😬😀 soon tho I’ll start again

      That’s awesome!…I actually started with the Nike app, I love it so much and I have to say it helped me get two medals when I ran a 10km distance ( 2016 Dasani Marathon and 2016 Marathon In Cape Town)
